I am very excited to announce that my first novella is out on Monday 17th July 2017! This has been years in the making for me. I originally released it as a short story back in February 2016, but there was always so much more to tell.
In my original short story, it had just 6,000 words. I used them all, but I had to cut out so much. I had to cut out the muscle bear, Gran and Richard the ex. They all made the story so much more insightful and richer. I was glad to add them back in.
This is also the first story I am putting out to the world where it’s just my name on the cover. I have been in Anthologies before, such as Starstruck, but this time it’s just me. There are certainly some dual emotions here. I am excited and scared. I think I’ve used the word ‘excited’ so much!
The journey to writing this story has been much more interesting than before. I had beta readers read through the story before I sent it to my editor. I made changes based on the feedback I’d received and then sent it on. Once it was in the hands of my editor, there were more shifts and changes to make, but each time I made a change (or rejected them) it made my story stronger.
As you can tell, this is book one, and I have more stories planned for James and Darren, as well as Max who is the catalyst for these guys getting together. I have written number 2, and will have that published soon.
Blurb
Looking for love is the last thing air steward, James Foster, is thinking about when he swaps flights to save his hung-over best friend’s job. He doesn’t know that fate has other ideas and he would fall for the tall, bearded passenger, Darren Busby, sat in 14D. Up in the air, James finds that the connection he has with Darren is too strong to ignore.
After missing the opportunity to ask for Darren’s number, James’ jaw hits the floor when Darren walks into the same hotel he is staying at. Butterflies and nerves take over, but soon give way to excitement as they get to know each other on the ground.
When James’ ex, Richard, shows up and begs for forgiveness, James has to decide if going back to the man who broke his heart would be worth it, or if he should finally move on and take a chance on Darren.
